about

FORETTA is a triptych dedicated to despair, anguish and reincarnation.

“Of Rancor” starts the proceedings, a delicate Oud lulls the listener in gently however momentum builds with cello swells, heavy drums and lines such as “there’s gold in the ground if the iron can be found, well I said to him go fuck yourself I ain’t digging” this combination results in a sort of bastardization of traditional Irish folk and Southern Gothic.

FORETTA offers a quick moment of solitude thereafter, a Celtic inspired instrumental played on the oud.

Finally Tom Wait’s “Clap Hands” ends the proceedings. A colossal song stripped back to the bare bones. Just guitar and vocals, recorded in one take during quarantine in April 2020.
